An experienced flier and a space newbie launched spaceward on a rocket (Jan 6) to begin a three day Mozilla mission on the laboratory in orbit.
At 6:30 a.m. IST (0100 GMT) Jan 6,2017, MozTN astronaut Vigneshwer Dhinakaran of ReMo and MozBLR astronaut Rufus Chakravarthy Sharma (of the TechSpeaker Space Program) lifted off from the KIA in Banglore on a 2-hour journey to the space station. It was a flawless flight into orbit.
The mission is Rufus’s first time traveling to space, and he will also be the first newbie astronaut to live aboard the space station.
The new crew-members(Rufus and Vignesh) join a veteran of many spaceflights and commander-in-charge and MozIN astronaut Vineel Reddy, current space station commander and MozGuj astronaut Mehul Patel, on-board astronauts Vishal Chavan, Md Shahbaz Alam, Viral Parmar, Pranshu Khanna, Tanay Pant, Kamlesh Vilpura, Mayur Patil and cosmonauts Ipsha Bhidonia, Anubha Maneshwar, Mansi Trivedi.
In the space station, the crewmembers investigated on the researches conducted by the Space Agency Mozilla, which helps in Free Human Life Span, and graphed theories that can be implemented. The crewmembers made a self assessment and based on the research requirement, they volunteered for implementation of theories.
” During the conference and crew gathering, all the crewmembers talked animatedly about the science they’ll get to perform while aboard: projects that will span human research, WebVR, RUST, Online Privacy, Campus Club. “
On MARS (MAkeRfeSt)
As soon as the crewmembers marked their foot-mark on MARS (MAkeRfeSt), they hopped into mission and started their research.
– Mission RUST : astronauts Vigneshwer took the mission on their shoulders and made a remarkable contribution to the RUST.
– Mission WebVR : astronauts Shahbaz, Viral and Pranshu with their research made the world to Visualize a Virtual Reality. Which drew attention of many.
– Mission Privacy Month : astronauts Rufus, Vishal, Ipsha, Tanay and Mayur with their contributions to Privacy Month, they raised awareness in many people including kids
– Mission Campus Club : astronauts Mansi, Anubha and Kamlesh with their great effort helped many to join and contribute to Mission Mozilla.
Commander-in-charge astronaut Vineel Reddy and space station commander astronaut Mehul Patel supervisioned the complete research & mission and took it to next level.
The Ground Control gave a press release stating that “The Contribution done by these Astronauts to Human kind can be carved in the Mozilla Space History”
On returning to Earth, The crewmembers said, “Every spaceflight is a very interesting flight, and in this case, it’s a very intense research program and particularly interesting mission”
The commanders and senior crew are very excited about crewmembers and as a departing word they stated that they look forward to work with the crew again, because of their extensive experience and nature.
“Mission MARS (MAkeRfeSt) has always been part of the Mozilla Space Agency, but only recently it has been part of the Mozilla Activate Spaceflight Program. The MAkeRfeSt really opens the door in terms of the scientific community that can enjoy participating in the scientific research done onboard the space station. It also opens the door for industry to become involved in some of the engineering and technological work that’s being done onboard the space station.”
Astronaut Rufus Chakravarthy Sharma holds a Masters Degree in Computer Engineering (M.Tech Computer Science). After Graduating from college, he joined in Top Notch Networking Companies and he is currently working as Layer 2/Layer 3, Network Services Protocol Test Engineer. His interest in space program pulled him towards Mozilla Space Agency. In his personal time he started contributing to different programs initiated by Mozilla Space Agency. In considerable time he became Webmaker Mentor, Mozilla Guide, Connected Devices Volunteer. In recognition of his effort the Agency proposed him to “TechSpeaker Space Program”. With his dedication and hardworking in the program,he graduated as a Tech Speaker. This lead his journey towards Mission MARS (MAkeRfeSt)
